Solenopsis

This collaboration, with two other designers at Harvard GSD, used microprocessors to sense 'something' around the university that could be presented in a display. Information on the number of people in the Natural History Museum at any one time was captured and expressed as an external display, through the control of fans forming part of an installation. My role focused on the code and electronics. Using two IR sensor two Particle Photons (WIFI arduino) and some relays, it was possible to count when people entered and left the museum. This information controlled motors operating the fans.
